Eden Oldfield is an Applied Research Assistant at PML Applications, where she plays a role in fieldwork and laboratory research supporting marine biodiversity and environmental monitoring. Eden is actively involved in planning and executing field surveys, often taking part in data collection and logistics, with associated laboratory analysis of environmental data.

Her work includes participation in plankton, nutrient and benthic surveys, as well as taxonomic identification and environmental assessments. Eden has collaborated with PML scientists on projects involving phytoplankton, nauplii, and microplastics, further developing her skills in marine ecology and applied research.

Eden has delivered educational talks at outreach events such as World Ocean Day at the Royal Greenwich Museum, raising awareness of the role of plankton in ocean health. She has also supported conservation work with the Wildlife Sense charity in Greece, assisting in turtle conservation, seagrass health assessments, and tourist engagement.

Eden holds a BSc in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology from the University of Plymouth.
